ParkAlbany Garage Updates: Newly Announced Discounts, Updated Grace Periods and More

From enhanced accessibility to new discounts and updated garage operations, ParkAlbany is announcing an array of recent updates and operational adjustments at our Downtown Albany facilities!
Longer Grace Period in Garages: Starting on March 31st 2025, we are pleased to announce that the free parking window at our 3 Downtown Garages (Quackenbush, Riverfront, Green-Hudson) will be extended from 10 minutes to 20 minutes. Extending this free parking window allows parkers extra time to complete their quick errands/pickups with convenient, covered off-street parking in Downtown Albany without having to pay for their brief parking session. Please note that this grace period will not be in effect while a special event rate is in place, and that parkers must enter and exit within the 20-minute window. After the 20-minute period expires, parkers will then have to pay for the full first hour rate (and beyond if applicable), as the 20-minute grace period does not constitute having 20 minutes of free parking removed from their additional time spent parked in the garage.
Business Pass Discounts: In an effort to provide affordable and convenient parking to support and sustain economic development in the City of Albany, we have lowered our quantity tiers for our monthly garage parking passes for businesses. Businesses purchasing 11-20 parking passes for a ParkAlbany garage are now eligible for discounted parking pass rate of $125.00/month per pass, and those ordering 21 or more business passes are now eligible for a pass rate of $115.00/month per pass! We have processed these discounts for our existing qualifying accounts and are pleased to pass these new savings on to new accounts and emerging businesses throughout Downtown Albany!
Rate Adjustments: On March 31st, 2025, ParkAlbany will be implementing a new rate structure at all 3 of our garages. These rates have been simplified to provide a more streamlined parking experience and allow for more clarity and transparency in the way daily parking rates are calculated, giving parkers a better idea of their final payment at each garage based on their expected parking duration. The maximum daily rate at all garages will be $15.00 per day, and the flat weekend daily rate will be $6.00 per day. Please note that these rates will vary if a special event rate is in place. Next-day parking rates will for all parkers begins at 12:00am.

Quackenbush Lot Discount: For those visiting Quackenbush Square and its surrounding art, shops, and restaurants, ParkAlbany is offering parkers a one-time discount code for up to $2.00 off their next parking session in the Quackenbush Parking Lot! Parkers can use the code “QSQUARE” in the ParkAlbany App when parking in the Quackenbush Parking Lot (Zone 701) for a one-time discount. Please be aware that this code does not work at physical parking meters/kiosks. To activate the code, select “Discount” on the payment screen of the app and enter the code to receive your discount. Please Note: The one-time discount code must be added when starting a new parking session in the ParkAlbany App and before completing the transaction, as there is no way to add the code after beginning a parking session.
